Travelling Tips In Pregnancy This Xmas

Who told you can’t look good with your big bump this yuletide period? Oh you can. You can saviour the holiday while pregnant. Just look for how to make the holiday less stressful. This should be in your mind most of the time because whatever happens to you affects your unborn bundle of joy. If you are travelling this Xmas, yes, why not? Nine months is a long time to be expected not to travel. The good news is that travelling is perfectly safe for most pregnant women. It doesn’t matter if you are travelling by airplane, car or boat, there are just a few things to remember to help make your travel plans more comfortable and safe.

Your dressing
Dress in such a comfortable way not to stress yourself. Remember that chances of stopping on the way to ease yourself especially if you are embarking on a far journey is more. So, jettison maternity trousers and slip into maternity dresses you can easily pull up and ease yourself when you are pressed. Don’t forget your sweaters, stockings to cover your feet from cold if need be.

 •Snacks:
Don’t forget your snacks on long airplane flights or long car trips. This can help you to be sure that you are nourished without appearing travel-stained. And just in case you get stocked in traffic or at the airport, you can have something to bite.

•Take stretch breaks: This is necessary whether you are in a car or in an airplane, getting up to move around at least every other hour is needed especially if you are heavily pregnant. This will help prevent soreness and stiffness as well as blood clots.

• Have your doctor’s phone number: This is important in case you need to call. Carry a copy of your prenatal record with you. It is true we don’t pray for emergencies while travelling but that doesn’t one shouldn’t be prepared all the time. And before you embark on any long journey this Xmas, first ask your doctor if you are medically fit. If yes, don’t forget to take his phone number and tell him/her that you would be calling to greet him. It is better to put it that way.
