Gov Okowa`s Fate To Be Decided Next Week Tuesday By Delta Tribunal

Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, on Tuesday, said it would rule on two preliminary applications brought before it by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).     

After listening to arguments from the respective parties represented by their various counsels, Chairman of the three-man tribunal, sitting in Asaba, the state capital, Justice Nasiru Gunm,i set the ruling in the applications for Tuesday, June 30, 2015.   

The applications for the preliminary objections to the petitions were filed by Okowa and his party, the PDP. Governorship candidate of Labour Party, Chief Great Ogboru and that of All Progressive Congress (APC), Olorogun O'tega Emerhor in two petitions are challenging the declaration of Okowa the winner of the April 11 gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
