Delta State APC Want Relocation Of Guber Tribunal

The Delta State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olorogun O’terga Emerhor Wednesday told journalists that he has requested for the relocation of the state’s Governorship and State Assembly Tribunal to Abuja because his supporters are unduly being harassed.

The Governorship Election Tribunals for Taraba, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and the entire north east zone having relocated to Abuja for reasons on insecurity of the tribunal members.

Emerhor, who spoke at the APC national secretariat in Abuja,  also feared that the tribunal verdict might be compromised, insisted that he had already instructed his lawyers to file necessary applications for the relocation.

Said he: “The governorship election in Delta state was fraudulent as it was in Akwa Ibom state, Cross River state and others so we went to the Tribunal because we believe we have a point.

“We have applied for relocation to Abuja because we believe we need to be in a neutral place. Where the tribunal is sitting is in Delta state and you can imagine the pressure we are facing in putting out our case.

“The transfer issue is being handled by our lawyers appropriately.”
Denying that the Delta APC is not fictionalised, he explained that aggrieved APC members after the congresses went to court but the matter was being resolved by the national leadership of the party.

Meanwhile, a group known as the “Coalition of APC Support Groups – South West” Wednesday asked the party members to sheath their sword and allow the existing structures stand.

The group, which specifically staged a protest at the APC National Secretariat, stated that President Muhammadu Buhari, National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Rochas Okorocha should not be harassed or vilified by party members given the role they played for the party’s victory.

Led by Hon. Adebiyi Abraham, the group stated: “Somebody wants to put President Muhammadu Buhari in trouble, that is why we are saying they should let sleeping dogs lie and reward those who worked hard for the party.

“I believe the PDP is down but not out, they are looking for every possible way to bring down the APC. I believe the party is working hard but we don’t want a situation whereby people bring down the leaders of the party.

“We believe all the leaders that have piloted the party so far should not be shoved aside. Let them continue; it is too early in the day to be calling for changes. Let us have peace in the party.

“This is a time to consolidate on the gains of the party. We will continue to protest we are here to let the party know that we will not condone situations where our leaders who worked hard for the party are treated shabbily”.
