4 Injured, Many Trapped As Building Collapsed In Ikoyi Yesterday


Four persons have been injured while many others are trapped under the rubble, as a building located in Dolphin Estate Ikoyi collapsed this morning.
The building according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is located at HFB way Dolphin Estate Ikoyi.
A statement from NEMA spokesman Ibrahim Farinloye said the incident occurred at 7.15am, following an explosion from the building.
The explosion he said was not unconnected to a gas, adding that three persons were said to be inside the building when the explosion occurred.
Farinloye said that the three occupant of the building and a driver alleged to be washing a vehicle outside the building have been evacuated to a St Maria Hospital Yaba, while the anti-bomb unit of the Nigeria Police and the Police disaster management unit have commenced work to unravel the cause of the explosion.
