The national chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Muazu, has said that the next month presidential election and other elections would be decided based on the ‎merits achievements of what the President Goodluck Jonathan has done.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the National Chairman, Tony Amadi, said that a bird in hand is always worth more in the bush, stating, "That is how the 2015 elections will be decided.

You have President Jonathan who can point to his numerous achievements on ground in the last six years and his opponent, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) who has been going round the country spreading promises to all the corners.

"The All Progressive Congress must cost their economic programme and explain to Nigerians how they will fund it. It is only right that they prove to Nigerians that they have added up the sums in their various costing to show that they are ready for governance.

"Nobody has been given any indication that they have estimated the cost of their array of promises and have figured out where the money to fund their millions of jobs before December 2015 will come from.

"We demand the costing of their economic plan for Nigeria for the remainder of their first year if they were to win the elections. Nigerian politics have gone beyond making empty promises you know cannot be fulfilled. Nigerians are now wiser after 15 years of democratic practice and the time for making unachievable promises are far in the past.
