What Buhari Has To Say About Yobe School Bomb Blast

Former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) has expressed deep pain and sadness at Monday’s suicide bomb attack at the Government Science Secondary School in Potiskum, Yobe State. The attack left 48 persons dead with over 70 others currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the dastardly act.

Describing victims of the attack as ‘innocent’ and the perpetrators as ‘evil’ in a statement posted on his Facebook, Buhari added “words alone cannot convey the full solemnity of my grief”.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential aspirant noted that “there is no doubt that we are going through a dark chapter in the history of this country”, but enjoined Nigerians to “take solace in the conviction that our unity will prevail over this evil in whatever name it is being committed”.

The former head of state continued: “As citizens, we can always ask the government to do more to protect the public and eradicate threats. And the government can only achieve that by prioritizing national security and not its own political survival”.
Buhari said his thoughts and prayers are with families of the victims, the people and government of Yobe State.
