NAF Helicopter Crash-lands Near Yola Int'l Airport


The military authorities have confirmed that one of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopters with call sign Shark 23, on a training mission, executed a controlled forced landing four minutes after take-off at the runway approach end of Yola International Airport.
The aircraft, which was alleged to have some American military experts inside, was said to have crash-landed around 9am on Monday.

The Director of Defence Information (DDI), Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade, in a statement confirming the crash, said that there was no casualty recorded as all the crew members have been recovered back to the base.
Olukolade, however, did not state the number of personnel and crew inside the helicopter and if any injuries were recorded.
