PDP Won Assembly polls In C’River

Results of the State House of Assembly elections conducted on Saturday in Cross River have showed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in the entire 23 state constituencies so far released by the INEC. Election in two other places, Yakurr 11 and Biase state constituencies were, however, postponed till Saturday April 18, due to either crisis or malpractices in the areas.


In Abi Local Government Area where the governor hails from, Lebo Gaul of the PDP won with 17,050 votes while Glory Mathew Samuel (PDP) won in Akamkpa 1 constituency with 8,387 votes. Other winners included ; Ekpe Charles Okom (PDP- Akamkpa 11); Ekpo Ekpo Bassey (PDPBakassi); Itam Virgina Abang (PDP-Boki 1 state constituency) and Hilary Ekpang Bisong (PDPBoki 11). 

Other emerging candidates also included; Idagu Ajor Agaj (PDPBekwarra); Efa Nyong Esua (PDP-Calabar Municipality); Okon Edem Ephraim (PDP-Calabar South 1) and Joseph Achibong Bassey (PDPCalabar South 11). Christian Achor Agbor of the PDP won in Etung, Federick Okpa Osim of the PDP won in Ikom 1 state constituency while Egbong Simon Nkoro secured victory in Ikom 11 state constituency.
In Obanliku Local Government Area, Moses Ucheche Ushie of the PDP emerged winner, Okpechi Friday Gabriel, also of the PDP, emerged in Obubra 1, while Dr. Elucate Okora Ekom, came top in Obubra 2 state constituency. In Odukpani, Akiba Bassey Ekpenyong of the PDP emerged winner.
 In Ogoja, Peter Agbe Odey of the PDP emerged winner. In Yakurr 1 state constituency, Nelson Eyong Ofem of the PDP secured vitory, while Yala 1 and 2 produced Regina Leonard Anyogo and Lukpata Ogana Nicholas, both of the PDP as winners respectively.
