Some Nigerian troops discovered a terrorist’s bomb making factory in Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The Defence spokesperson, Chris Olukolade, in a statement said troops on a cordon and search operation found a large quantity of Improvised Explosive Devices including those commonly used by suicide bomber.

He said the troops are currently evacuating materials which include a large quantity of suicide bomber vests from the facility to their base.

He said some of the group converted some of the materials in the factory, located in a fertilizer company, for production of all types of IEDs

Mr. Olukolade, a major general said, “It is believed that the heavy calibre bomb used in blowing up the bridge between Damaturu and Buni Yadi was produced in the factory.”

He added that troops advancement to the site was delayed by the series of IEDs planted on the highway leading to Buni Yadi. Four soldiers died from these explosions during the operation.

The Defence spokesperson said the discovery is expected to degrade the aptitude of terrorists in the production of explosives, which they have been using lavishly in the area until they were dislodged from their stronghold.
