The governor made the call in Jos on Friday during a Town Hall Meeting organised by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to gain the confidence of prospective voters in the forthcoming elections.
The governor commended Jega for conducting credible elections in 2011, but added that the 2015 elections were different.
According to Jang, Jega’s integrity as an unbiased umpire would further be proved in the general elections slated for March 28 and April 11.
He said it has been observed that the card reader contains 600 megabytes of data but that only four megabytes were deployed during the mock elections conducted by INEC.
This, he said made the true capacity of the machines suspect and advised that if they had challenges working optimally, Jega should not insist on using them.
Jang, PDP’s senatorial candidate for Plateau North, pledged to give the people of the senatorial district “interactive representation“ if elected.
