Former President Olusegun Obasanjo Thursday received his Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Obasanjo, who received the card from the Ogun State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Sam Olumekun, at his hilltop residence in Abeokuta, said his fervent prayer to God is to outlast the PVC.
The PVCs being issued by the commission are said to have been programmed to last for 10 years.
But in his remarks shortly after Olumekun led top officials of INEC in the state to present him the card, Obasanjo urged Nigerians to always protect their PVCs.
The former president expressed delight that he obtained his national identity card from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) a few weeks ago.
