Final Decision On Keshi Has Not Been Reached – NFF

Nigeria Football Federation may have made a rethink on  the issue of handing coach Stephen Keshi a new contract following the increasing public disaffection over the federation’s lack of braveness to do away with the former Eagles captain.

NFF vice president, Seyi Akinwummi hinted that a final decision on Keshi has not been reached as there were series of meetings within the NFF committees, after which a board meeting will be held to take a final stand.

This position is coming on the heels of stinging criticism made by members of the National House of Assembly on the NFF’s inability to think beyond Keshi in face of his seeming reluctance to accept a new deal offered him by the NFF.

“It’s not like we are not bold, but we have to make a good decision because five years from now, people will make reference to this.

“We will have a series of meetings over the next fortnight, starting from Wednesday. The technical, marketing, and legal committees will meet with Stephen Keshi and his camp.
“There’ll also be a board meeting within the next few weeks and we will make a final decision,” Akinwummi stated.

Meanwhile former coach of the Super Eagles, Christian Chukwu has urged the NFF to act quickly in appointing a new coach as delay is dangerous for the team.

“Whatever they decide to do, they should understand that time is of the essence here. The qualifiers for the next Africa Cup of Nations will start very soon and we must have a coach
