RAHEEM STERLING insists he can handle the pressure of being the most expensive English player ever. He completed his move from Liverpool to Manchester City in a staggering £49million deal yesterday. But Sterling, 20, is convinced the huge fee will not be a millstone around his neck. The forward said: “I’ve just had to learn to take it all in my stride.
“I never imagined I’d be at this point at the age I am now and breaking a transfer record fee.
“You don’t think about it when you’re a kid — but things have come really fast in the last couple of years.
“It’s a good feeling and a really happy time for me and my family.
“I’m just glad it’s all over and done with and I can’t wait to get on the training field.
“I’d also like to thank all the people around me — my mum and sisters, my management team, and Aidy Ward for helping me focus and get where I am today.”
