4-Years Relationship, 2-Kids, Frank Lampard Finally Wants To Marry Girlfriend, Christine

The football hero and the TV presenter face a 3,500-mile challenge to their relationship as he moves to the States to play for New York City FC.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, the 37-year-old midfielder says: “We are going to do a small and pretty intimate wedding, not a surprise thing.

“We like our privacy. We don’t like being apart for too long, so we’ll make it work.

“She’ll be backwards and forwards probably more than me but we are a couple who like to be together.”

He baulks at the prospect of supersized American portions and explains: “We’ll try to do the whole healthy living thing.

“But we train every day, so we’re quite fortunate that we can afford to have a donut if we fancy it.”

It is an exciting time for Frank, who is in training ahead of his New York City FC debut, against Toronto FC, on Sunday.

Casual in jeans and a long-sleeve T-shirt, the dad of two is clearly relaxed, happy and raring to get stuck into his new job.

He says: “The great thing about New York City is being in a new place, a new adventure.”
