Photos: Over 162 Suspected Criminals, Ritualist In Rivers Police Net


The Rivers State Police Command have paraded over 162 suspects who committed various degrees of crimes in the different parts of the state.
Spokesman of the Command, Ahmad Mohammad, told newsmen at the Special Operation Squad, SOS in Port Harcourt that the arrests were made in line with the drive of the command to stem criminality in the state. According to Daily Post
Mohammad said most of the suspects were arrested for committing cult related crimes, kidnapping and armed robbery in Etche, Ogbakiri, Rumuekini, Choba, Eliozu and other key areas of the state.
The Police Command however said that the suspects will be charged to court.
“These are the criminals we are showing you. What we are doing is to ensure that Rivers people sleep with their two eyes closed.
“Most of them were arrested in connection with cultism in the state. Some of them are in connection with armed robbery.
“All of you are aware that the courts have resumed. Today or tomorrow they will be charged to court,” Ahmad said.
Some of the suspects who spoke with our correspondent gave different accounts of what led to their arrests.
Thirty-four fire arms, one hundred and seventy-four ammunition and fifteen vehicles were recovered from the suspects in the last thirty days.
