Nigeria Police Rescue Kogi State Commissioner From Kidnappers

Kogi state Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Stephen Maiyaki, who was abducted on May 30has been reunited with his family the police in Kogi state has announced.
According to the Punch, Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Shola Adebayo, in a statement released in Lokoja said the commissioner was rescued at about 2am on Thursday.
Maiyaki was kidnapped with six other persons at Osara village also in Adavi local government while there to resolve a land dispute.

He was rescued from the kidnappers hideout at Abobo village in Adavi Local Government area though the six other six persons abducted along with him are yet to be rescued.
The spokesman also did not give any information on the whereabouts of Justice Samuel Obayomi of the state High Court who was abducted in the same local government area on May 25.
The judge was kidnapped by six masked men on his way to court while the policeman attached to the High Court Judge was killed in the kidnapping process.
In a related development, Princess Oluwatoyin Omosowon, the Regent of Akungba-Akoko community in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been reportedly kidnapped along with three of her aides.
Police in the state are requesting information as to her kidnapping which could aid her rescue.
