Omosowon, who had been in captivity for two weeks was rescued by a combined team of State Security Service (SSS), the Army and the Police.

Princess Oluwatoyin was immediately taken to the State Government House where she appreciated the effort of the State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko for his unrelenting efforts in order to secure her release.
The regent’s abduction has put Akungba-Akoko, the hosting community of Adekunle Ajasin University in a pensive mood, thereby forcing the management of the institution to call off its matriculation ceremony last week.
It would be recalled that she was abducted at Ose-Owo road when she was on her way to Akure for a Public lecture to be delivered by the Vice-Chancellor of AAUA, Prof. Igbekele Ajifeun two weeks ago.
Her abductors had earlier demanded for N20million ransom, but the people of the community were warned by the police not to pay the money.
Already, Christians, Muslims and traditionalists have begun spiritual prayers for her release.
She was later released this morning at Arimagija, a farm settlement in Ose local government area of the state after one of the leaders of the kidnappers was gunned down by the security operatives.
Two of the criminals were arrested and have been taken to custody by the police.
The house used as base by the kidnappers to host their victims were said to have been set ablaze by some irate youths, who expressed surprise that such nefarious activity was going on within the vicinity.
