First Lady Of The United States Lands In The UK Tonight For Girls Learn Initiative

The First Lady of the United States lands in the UK tonight.
Michelle Obama and her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, are meeting students in London as part of Michelle’s Let Girls Learn initiative, a campaign to bring education to youngsters across the world.
The six-day trip will also see the First Lady, 51, visit Italy where the focus will shift to other campaigns which are also close to her heart.
In honour of Mrs O’s big visit, we take a look at 21 times the Fierce-t Lady ruled the world.
First Lady Michelle Obama will land at Stansted Airport this evening ahead of a visit to London where she will show support for the education of young women.
Mrs Obama will land in the Essex airport without US President Barack Obama, at 8pm this evening (Monday, June 15).
The 51-year-old lawyer is visiting the UK as part of the Let Girls Learn initiative, to visit Mulberry School for Girls in Tower Hamlets, East London tomorrow, where she will discuss with students how the US and UK are helping young girls to get an education around the world.
The First Lady's London visit follows her recent trips to Japan and Cambodia.
After a day of round-table discussions, the First Lady will have tea with Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha, at 10 Downing Street.
Mrs Obama will be flying out of Stansted again at 11am on Wednesday.
The first lady previously landed in Stansted Airport when she accompanied her husband on March 31, 2009 - two months after his inauguration as 44th President of the United States - when they arrived in Air Force One ahead of the G20 summit in London.
Prior to that, American presidents had flown into Heathrow Airport for visits to the UK, but after George W Bush's last arrival caused chaos, preparations were made for an alternative destination for President Obama and Stansted became the front-runner as a result of its extensive private facilities
