Borno State Gov. Sheriff Granted Bail

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, June 4, 2015, agreed to release former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, on administrative bail.
Sheriff was at the headquarters of the commission on Wednesday, to honour the invitation of the anti-graft agency.
EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwajeren, told newsmen that the ex-governor could be summoned again, if necessary, to help in its investigations.
The commission is yet to formally prefer charges against Sheriff, however, unofficial sources claim that the investigation is connected to the expenditure of about N300 billion that his administration in Borno State received from the Federation Account between 2003 and 2011.
