The Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, and a former governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel, showered encomiums on the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, as he clocked 73 on Monday.
While Mr. Daniel described Mr. Adeboye as an inimitable minister with supernatural passion for the work of the Lord, Mr. Buhari described him as an exemplary nation builder.
The APC presidential candidate described Mr. Adeboye as a peace-loving citizen, in a statement released by the Directorate of Media and Publicity of the APC presidential campaign organisation.
“Your role as a nation-builder is being acknowledged by all, and I enjoin you to continue in your service to God and humanity,” the statement read.
On his part, the former Ogun Governor said Mr. Adeboye’s humble beginnings, focus, hard work, determination and rise to eminence in Nigeria’s Christendom are nothing but fulfilment of the scriptures and a manifestation of divine existence in his life.
“I can remember that from my early university days, I have been drawn to his sermons which always contain interesting stories and illustrations that brought each lesson to life. Anyone who has heard him speak would agree he has a wonderful way with words and a tender, fervent heart. For some of us who had the privilege of being taught and nurtured by Pastor Adeboye, we were always challenged by the way he delivered the Word in his inimitable, eloquent style.
“Pastor Adeboye’s spartan life of transparency, openness, truth and grace make him one outstanding personality worthy of reference. He is indeed God’s precious gift to the nation,” Mr Daniel said through his media officer, Ayo Giwa.
