No fewer than three students of The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti were on Tuesday arrested by the police and detained for participating in a protest staged against the dispute between the Rector, Dr Taiwo Akande and the trade unions.
Meanwhile, the Rector had closed down the institution indefinitely for normalcy to return after the turmoil that was witnessed in the Polytechnic due to massive protest staged by the students.
The students, who massed before the Administrative block as early as 7am, accused the Rector and the unions of playing politics with their future, saying the stalemate the power game between them had caused ,was having a toll on their academic calendar.
