Its not uncommon to find folks in these parts bemoan the lack of fun options. For the average Lagosian, fun usually centres around food, movies and partying.
However, in honour of the weekend, we'll be casting our net in the sea and fishing out other fun options for your pleasure.
Check on them.
- Visit the Lekki Conservation Centre: If you're a lover of nature then this is the perfect activity for you to indulge in this weekend. The Lekki Conservation Centre like the name suggests is a conservation site covering 78 hectares of natural habitat including attractions like a swamp outlook, bird hide, rest stops and the tree house. So get on your hiking gear and head on for a dose of nature.
- Go see a play: In the recent years, Nigerian theatre has witnessed a huge explosion thanks to places like Terra Kulture which features a play every Sunday in its facility. So give the movies a rest and go see a play instead.
- Go-karting: Indulge your inner child with a spot of go-karting this weekend and Get Arena is a great place for this.
- Go for a boat ride: Music icon, Beyonce has famously said that the only place she feels at rest and at peace is on a boat - and for good reason. There's something absolutely relaxing about sailing, so if you aren't sea sick, grab a friend/loved one and go on a boat ride.
- Throw a barbeque party: Ok so we realise this isn't too far from the food/party options we're supposed to be avoiding but this is in a class all by itself. Call on a few close friends, get out your grill and play catch up. Note that this doesn't necessarily have to involve barbeques and grills, it could also just be drinks and peppersoup. The most important thing is you're surrounded by friends/loved ones, and food!
