Late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua appointed him to be his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity on 30 May 2007. Olusegun Adeniyi has challenged youths in Nigeria to leave the level of complacency and wrestle powers from the current political class, if they must remain relevant in the political equation in the country.

Adeniyi who gave the charge over the weekend in Abuja at a youth conference said it is high time youth in the country realize that nothing, particularly power is given freely.
