“There Has Never Been A Fight Between Fashola & Myself”: Tinubu Dismisses Oba Of Lagos Claims

Yesterday, at the event put together to mark Gov. Babatunde Fashola’s 2900th day in office, the Oba of Lagos was a guest and he made several claims some of which are now being denied by Bola Tinubu, the APC leader.
Akiolu, who has never hidden his political liking for Tinubu, said that currently there are several people who are trying to instigate Pres-elect Muhammadu Buhari against Bola Tinubu. He asked Lagosians to pray for Tinubu so that the APC leader’s “labour will not be in vain.”
He recalled how Tinubu and Fashola were involved in a bitter quarrel in the past, and how it was he who had waded in and helped resolve it as it had the potential to disrupt the current administration and even affect the party’s chances in future election.
He said he stepped in and asked the two men to make peace and extracted commitments from both of them for the sake of Lagos. He also thanked Gov. Fashola for keeping to his own end of the bargain, while accusing some of those in the audience listening to him of having instigated the crisis and “created an industry in reporting to “Party A” what “Party B” had said about him and vice-versa.”
The claims of the monarch have now been debunked by one of the principal actors in the saga, Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu said that he and Fashola never had a fight but have had cause to disagree “over procedures in the past.”
In a series of tweets, Tinubu created the impression that any issue with Fashola was not major contrary to what the Oba said yesterday, and what several media houses reported about at the time.
