The Federal government on Wednesday clarified that the dinner being organised for the president elect on May 28 is not meant to be for a formal handover to president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, noting that the May 29th hand-over date remains sacrosanct.
Making the clarification Wednesday, Minister of Information, Patricia Akwashiki, said the dinner would still be hosted by Jonathan for Buhari on May 28.
According to the minister, all hand over briefs being coordinated by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim would be ready by May 28.
She assured contractors that there entitlements would be settled noting that if there had been any slowing down of projects by contractors, it could only be a result of non assent to the 2015 budget, and not because of fears of revocation.
On the sacking of Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, just a few weeks to the hand over date, Akwashiki said it remained the prerogative of the President to take such decision and he had done what he felt should be done.
