The Team merges the global appeal of soccer/football with soap opera, to help transform social attitudes and diminish violent behavior in countries grappling with deeply rooted conflict The series which has spin-offs in 17 other countries( USA, Kenya,Lebanon, Indonesia , Morocco, Nepal, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Côte d’ivoire, Syria, Palestine, etc) stars Tope Tedela, Meg Otanwa, Keppy Ekpeyoung, kelvin Ikeduba, Hoom Suk and a few others. and was directed by award-winning filmmaker Kenneth Gyang and produced by Dimbo Atiya.
The Team Nigeria is backed by the European Union and is commissioned by Search For Common Ground, an international non-profit organization whose mission is to transform the way the world deals with conflict away from adversarial approaches toward cooperative solutions.
Written by a group of talented and accomplished writers led by Victor ‘Sánchez Aghahowa, the team promises to be entertaining, engaging and educative programme. The Team Nigeria will air on TV stations across Nigeria and will also be available for viewing online.
