Fashola Defends Buhari's Age

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Raji Fashola
The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Raji Fashola has defended his position that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr.Jimi Agbaje was too old for Lagos but that Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) was not too old to be president in Nigeria, considering the prevailing circumstances.

Fashola had come under severe criticism from PDP supporters who asked him to tell the country how Buhari, who is about 73, hoped to govern Nigeria with his age.
When speaking at the APC governorship campaign for the party’s candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode at Apapa, on Friday, Governor Fashola replied his critics.
He said at the moment, Nigerians needed a trusted and credible candidate, who can properly manage the nation's resources as president, since the current development in the country had shown that a younger person without idea and competence cannot rule Nigeria.
