Youths Burn APC Brooms In Imo, Insist On Jonathan for Presidency
Thousands of youths under the auspices of the Imo Grassroots for Goodluck Jonathan Organisation (IGGO) Thursday staged a solidarity march along the streets of Owerri, the Imo State capital, in support of the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
The youths, who moved from Egbu Road through Wetheral Road, burnt brooms, the symbol of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in front of the Imo State Government House, declaring the party dead in the state before marching to the state secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) along Okigwe Road where they declared total support for the re-election of President Jonathan.
Speaking on behalf of the youths before the state executive of the PDP, the national coordinator of IGGO, Otuibe Samuel said they carried out the rally as a way of continuing their sensitization of the Imo populace to support the re-election of Jonathan.
According to him, President Jonathan has done a lot for Imo State and South East in general especially in the areas of education, youth empowerment, agriculture and other salient areas.
